Simon is a Professional engineer, linguist, former NZ Trade Commissioner, financial management consultant, BDM for technology export companies. His engineering background as a structural engineer with Ove Arup & Partners (www.arup.com) in England and then as a project manager with Beca (www.beca.co.nz) brings senior project management of a number of major multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects in New Zealand.
More recently Simon is actively involved consulting to NZ technology export manufacturers. He is intimately familiar with extensive business experience in New Zealand, Germany and the UK across a broad range of industry sectors in both the public and private sectors.
He has an MA in Engineering and Modern Languages from Cambridge University in England and an MBA from Otago University. He is a Member of the Institution of Professional Engineers, New Zealand (MIPENZ) and a member of the Mindshop Facilitator Network (www.mindshop.com). He has worked in a number of marketing and business development roles for technology companies, including: Wellington Drive Technologies, Aeroqual, Actronic Technologies, Truescape Visual Reality, Senztek and Multifit to develop export markets in the UK, Europe, Australia and North America. Simon has played a key role as part-time Cluster Facilitator of the Auckland ICT Cluster for four years, growing the cluster from 20 to over 70 members.
